Roompot Orange Peloton achieved decent results in yesterday's races in the Netherlands and Germany. A 4th place for Jesper Asselman in the Ronde van Limburg and an 11th place for Raymond Kreder in Rund um Köln were the greatest achievements.

At the race in the Flemish and Walloon hills around Tongeren, Jesper Asselman was just centimeters from finishing on the podium. He was one of the protagonists in the finale.

"It actually started about 70 kilometers from the finish. After good work by teammate Etienne van Empel in the previous phase, I could join what ultimately proved to be the decisive battle, "Asselman said. "In the last local lap, I tried to follow on the climb (Kolmontberg) but Leukemans was simply the strongest man in the race. It is a pity that Wouter Mol (3rd) was slightly less tired than me in the final sprint. It was close, less than 10 centimeters. The podium would have been nice, but I'm happy with my performance, also with a view to the Ster ZLM Tour."

André Looij (12th) and Tim Kerkhof (18th) also finished in the top 20.

The Rund um Köln was decided in a sprint from a small group. Tom Boonen was the fastest. Raymond Kreder finished 11th and Dylan Groenewegen (21th) also did the sprint of a first peloton of just 26 riders.

"That was a great performance of the five to stay away for 50 kilometers," said sports director Jean-Paul van Poppel afterwards. "We joined forces with Giant-Alpecin who worked hard to bring back the leaders for Marcel Kittel. Unfortunately, we were stranded atless than a minute."

In the hilly early phases of the race, Maurits Lammertink was part of a breakaway group.

"Later they were joined by 20 riders, including Michel Kreder. On the last climb the group with Boonen left and we never saw them again."
