Maurits Lammertink fractured his collarbone has in a crash at the cyclo-cross race in Boxtel. However, he still managed to take third in the race won by Mike Teunissen.
Because of the injury, his participation in the National Cyclo-Cross Championships is in danger.
"I slid out in a corner, hit a pole and went down. Due to the adrenaline, I managed to continue but I felt immediately that it was not right. It is a shame because it is the first broken bone in my cycling career,” Lammertink told Cyclingonline.nl.
Lammertink is one of the leaders of the Roompot team. This year he won a stage of the Tour du Limousin and got very close to victory in the queen stage of the Four Days of Dunkirk.
