In the sprint won by Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida), Nippo-Vini Fantini's Eduard Grosu finished third on the third stage of theTour of Hainan.
The result was the first first podium at the Tour of Hainan for the Italian team. After Alessandro Malaguti was awarded the aggressiveness prize yesterdat, Eduard Grosu wasonly beaten by Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Farnese Vini) and Jakub Mareczko (Southeast). The talented Romanian also moved into fourth in the points classification.
The sprint today was for real specialists and supported by the team, Grosu and Daniele Colli put his team in the spotlight.
Eduard Grosu wants to improve: "I'm happy with the podium, but I was aiming for the win to reward the great work done by my teammates. In front of me, there was a specialist like Modolo whom I congratulate. I'm happy with my 2015, I continue with the team because I feel very well and it is the ideal environment to grow. But the season is not over yet, and until the last day we will try to win."
The tour is the last race of the team and will end on Wednesday after the ninth stage. Nippo-Vini Fantini is chasing the twelfth win of the season.
