José Joaquín Rojas (Movistar Team) has reacted to the information that linked him to doctor Michele Ferrari in the investigation by the Padova inquiry and has been published by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The reports claim that there have been phone calls and email exchanges with Stefano Ferrari, Michele's son, in November 2010. Rojas does not deny those contacts but rejects that there are any stronger links. "Regarding the imformation published today, I exchanged several mails with Stefano Ferrari about my workouts Everything else are baseless rumors," he said in a Twitter message.
"None of this has to do with my team. I hope and wish that we are not unfairly affected by this case," he adds.
Rojas started his career with Liberty Seguros im 2006 and joined Caisse d'Epargne in 2007. Since then he has been riding for the team which is now known as Movistar Team. He is a stage winner in the Volta a Catalunya and the Vuelta al Pais Vasco and was the 2011 Spanish road race champion.
