Joaquim Rodriguez will be the leader of his Russian team Katusha in the upcoming La Vuelta a Espana. The Spaniard rode the Tour de France as a part of rebuilding his form after several crashes in the Giro d’Italia this spring.
And as helpers for the experienced rider, the team is throwing in strong cards like Dani Moreno, who in his career has won big victories in races such as Fleche Wallone, Alexander Kolobnev, who is known to be strong on the hills and Yury Trofimov, who is showing great progress and strong form at the moment.
But also fellow countryman Albert Losada, Giampaola Caruso and Eduard Vorganov will definitely be a strong help, so all in all a great support for the winner of the UCI World Tour ranking in 2013.
The Spanish super tour will be held from August 23rd to September 14th. The Vuelta will start in the southern town Jerez de la Frontera with a team time trial of 12,6 km and will end in Galicia with an individual time trial of 9,7 km in Santiago de Compostela. The race includes 13 mountain stages with 10 uphill finishes.
Joaquim Rodriguez, Daniel Moreno, Alberto Losada, Giampaolo Caruso, Alexander Kolobnev, Iurii Trofimov, Sergei Chernetckii, Eduard Vorganov and Dmitriy Kozonchuk.
