The Russian WorldTour Team Katusha will take part in the Italian one-day race Grand Prix Industria Commercio e Artigianato di Prato (UCI 1.1), which will be held on September 21st.
Traditionally, GP di Prato is used as a final step in the preparation for the road race of the World Championships, which this time will be held on September 28th in Ponferrada, Spain.
The team will come to the race with the Spaniard Joaquin Rodriguez, who is in quite a good form at the moment and will share the captain role with Alejandro Valverde at the World’s. Also strong going Italian Giampaolo Caruso will take part in the race together with Dani Moreno.
The trio was a big part of the Katusha showing in the Vuelta a España this year. All in all a very strong roster for the race, so the team must be counted as one of the domestique teams of the race.
The team’s line-up: Joaquim Rodriguez, Sergei Chernetckii, Daniel Moreno, Egor Silin, Iurii Trofimov, Giampaolo Caruso, Alberto Losada and Eduard Vorganov.
