After testing positive following his silver medal at the 2015 Italian Road Race, Francesco Reda has been banned for eight years and fined 600 Euro. The length of the sentence has been given due to the fact that it is the 33 year old’s second positive test.
His ban will end on 14 November 2023 and his Team Idea squad has sacked him. He has previously suspended in 2013 for two years for refusing to take an anti-doping control while riding for Androni-Giocattoli.
