The German-Danish SWB pair of Marcel Kalz / Alex Rasmussen took over the sole leadership following their impressive ride in a big chase on the second day of the 51st Bremen Six Days.

Thanks to the predictable victory in the final sprint against Leif Lampater, the team not only secured 20 points, but passed the 100-points mark and thus gained a bonus lap. Until then, the newly formed ÖVB team consisting of Leif Lampater / Marc Hester, which successfully rode together last year in Copenhagen, were keeping up the pace of the Garman-Danish pair and was remaining at the same lap. The duo was forced to team up together for the second evening of competition after Wim Stroetinga had to be neutralized with a stomach virus before the first chase, while Christian Grasmann pulled out of the race due to an injury he suffered the previous day.

A furious pace dictated in the 60-minutes long Madison race turned out to be too high for oldie Luke Roberts. Lining up in at the event together with debuting at the Six Day arena established track star Bobby Lea, Lotto team is already 13 laps behind, without any hope to significantly improve their position. Andreas Graf and Andreas Müller riding in the Bike it outfit were a positive surprise of the last night. Even though the extremely high pace eventually took its toll, the German pair managed to hang on to wheels of the leaders longer than anyone could have expected. Eventually, they finished the evening in the 5th place at three laps, behind Nick Stöpler/ Nico Heßlich (Schmidt & Koch) and Morgan Kneisky / Jesper Morkov (Leasing e-bike) remaining 2 laps down on the leaders.
