The second day of racing at the Six-Days of Amsterdam came to an abrupt halt when derny pacer Cees Stam suffered serious injuries in an accident. The organizers are currenly awaiting more information about the condition of Stam who is the father of former Six-Day star Danny Stam.
The second evening of racing of the Six Days of Amsterdam was abandoned following a serious accident in the first heat of the derny race. Veteran Dutch derny pacer Cees Stam sustained serious injury during a fall in the closing stages of the race. He was attended on site by medical staff and has been transferred to the VU hospital for further assessment and treatment.
A number of other pacers and riders were involved in the incident. All are well, although some have minor injuries. The organisation will provide further updates as more information comes available.
Niki Terpstra/Yore Havik led the race after the first night and won the opening madison on day two before the racing was suspended.
