Quentin Jaurégui won his first pro win this weekend by being the most quickly during the GP de la Somme. The Ag2r-La Mondiale rider will start this wednesday the 4 Jours de Dunkerque with confidence. Alexis Gougeard, an other offensive rider, will be able to shine on northern roads.
"On 4 Jours de Dunkerque, each rider, the attackers or the sprinters, can hope to win", Quentin Jauregui explained in a press release. "We have a great team, similar to that of Spring Classics. Only Blel (Kadri) will replace Hugo (Houle, engaged in the Giro). During the second stage (Fontaine au Pire > Maubeuge), we will pass near by my house."
He told also about his success. "It's a relief to be able to win the GP de la Somme. In January, I was feeling really fit. But a tendonitis forced me to stop to ride completely for 25 days. I started from scratch on the classics. I knew I would "take hits" with my lack of condition. I managed to stay strong in the head. Now I hope to confirm soon."
AG2R La Mondiale roster - 4 Jours de Dunkerque : Gédiminas Bagdonas, Damien Gaudin, Alexis Gougeard, Quentin Jaurégui, Blel Kadri, Sébastien Minard, Sébastien Turgot et Johan Vansummeren.
