One of the most active in the last kilometers of yesterday’s Giro stage was Domenico Pozzovivo. The Lucan, especially on Carpegna, put his team to work with the aim to wear down opponents.
"I preferred to do this to my opponents on the difficult Carpegna climb - the Ag2r rider told Rai after crossing the finish line - the goal was to thin the group and get to the final climb, which was not suited to my characteristics, with my opponents felling much worse than they’d hope to be. I am happy I was with the best and this was my goal. Ulissi has proven to be strong and in a great run of form. My team was good, we had a nice ride today and I hope to repay them in the coming days."
