The weekend for Lampre-Merida was completed by the French race GP Fourmies, whose epilogue was unlucky for the team.
They were well-represented by Filippo Pozzato in a 15-rider breakaway which escaped from the peloton with 23 km to go. The former Italian champion and Milano-San Remo winner aimed to a top result, which could give value to the final part of the season and he was in the perfect position with 2km to go.
Unfortunately, Pozzato had to face bad luck as he touched an opponent and crashed on his right collarbone which was later confirmed to be broken.
The race was won by Felline, who was one of the members of the breakaway and who kept the peloton at bay. Sacha Modolo gave Lampre-Merida a 9th place.
