FDJ and Thibaut Pinot tried to limit their losses in the team time trial at the Tour de France and ended the stage in 14th.
"It was a very demanding time trial, but very interesting," Pinot told L'Equipe. "We fought well despite the absence of William Bonnet who was our locomotive. We lost a big element. We have no big regrets, we gave the best of ourselves.
"For my part, I still struggle to be 100%. It is always complicated with my knee. When I am in full effort, it is okay but during the warm-up it was not good. In the head I am ready but we have to see with the legs. But if the head is well, the rest will follow."
