According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, World champion Peter Sagan plans to do a recon of the course for the road race of the Olympic Games after the Tour de San Luis. The Tinkoff rider who will return to action in Argentina, will test the Rio circuit two days after the conclusion of the event (January 26):
Everyone agrees that the route will favour a climber and could be too hard for Sagan. However, he proved at the last Tour of California that he climbs better than most think. The question is whether Sagan will actually makes these Olympics a main goal.
After the recon, he will attend an event organized by Specialized in Sao Paulo and then he will return to Europe for altitude training before the opening weekend in Belgium.
