André Greipel won the 5th stage of the Tour de France in Amiens. Despite many crashes, the AG2R La Mondiale riders were spared bad luck.
"It was a step that was feared," manager Vincent Lavenu said. "There was a lot of tension in the peloton and a lot of crashes. Some teams lost many hopes today. We have been spared and it is another day done as we get closer to the mountains."
