Androni Sidermec got a deserved spot on the podium after they have been protagonists in nine of the ten road stages of the Giro when Franco Pellizotti took third place in the stage won by Russian Ilnur Zakarin.
The result was no surprise for team manager Gianni Savio. Interviewed by RAI during the staegy, he expressed his belief in the possibility of a good result by Pellizotti who was playing the role of captain perfecrly. The result comes at the right time for the whole team who have regained moral after the unfortunate incident for Oscar Gatto who punctured out of the break that decided the stage to Forli yesterday
