Omega Pharma-Quick Step will head into the Tour of California with a focus on success in the sprint stages as Mark Cavendish arrives straight from a very fruitful participation in the Tour of Turkey. The race will also mark the return to competition for Tom Boonen and Niki Terpstra while Carlos Verona will get his chance to test the legs in the summit finishes.
Omega Pharma – Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the selection that will participate in 1,156.1km AMGEN Tour of California, from May 11th until May 18th.
The race route travels from Sacramento to Thousand Oaks, and includes a Stage 2 20.1km ITT as well as two mountain stages. Stage 3 finishes on Mount Diablo, and Stage 6 features a summit finish on Mountain High. The rest of the stages will leave the possibility of a group arrival.
