Nelson Oliveira (Lampre-Merida) was on track for a podium finish as he was second fastest at the first time check in the Vuelta a Espana time trial. However, he faded in the finale and had to settle for 8th.
"I expected a better result but I feel tired and it is a key factor. My legs need some rest. The TT is very difficult. The sensations are not bad but it was a tough time trial. Rain was not forecast but it actually rained a little," he said"
