In 2012, Oskar Svendsen broke through when he won the junior time trial world championships. Now Norwegian media report that the talented youngster will end his career at just 20 years of age.
At just 20 years of age, Oskar Svendsen will leave the cycling world. Born in 1994, the young Norwegian became known by the general public in 2012 when he won the junior time trial world championships in Valkenburg. Even more notably, he gained recognition for the fact that he had recorded a record maximum oxygen consumption of 97.5 ml / kg / min at 18 years of age.
Having started cycling at the age of 15, his short career which saw him finished fifth in the 2013 Tour de l'Avenir, seems to have reached the end, largely due to a lack of motivation. In recent weeks, he had announced his plans to take a break, but local sources report that his decision will be made more concrete and definite very soon.
