Johnny Hoogerland had a very bad year at Androni Giocattoli and will ride for Roompot in 2015. Apparently, he ends his time with the Italian team on a very bad note as he claims to not have received his salary yet.
Johnny Hoogerland has not yet received his salary from Androni Giocattoli. The Dutchman has complained about the situation in a tweet.
"What can you do if your team does not pay your salary?" he wrote in a tweet sent to UCI president Brian Cookson.
The 31-year-old rider had a mediocre season with the Italian team. "It was clear that I would not be a success at Androni Giocattoli," he said earlier this year. "Mainly because of a lack of good communication."
His compatriot Kenny van Hummel also rode for Gianni Savio's team in 2014 but has decided to end his career. As opposed to this, Hoogerland has managed to sign a contract with the new Dutch Roompot team.
