Vincenzo Nibali is satisfied with his performance at the Tour de San Luis. The Astana rider leaves the Argentinean race with a good feeling.
"I was looking for signals that I found. I go forward with optimism. In Saturday’s uphill finish, I did thirty minutes a bloc and worked for Lopez who won the stage. I was not even tired at the finish," he tells La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Nibali suffered in the first uphill finish where he lost more than five minutes but bounced back with a top 10 in the final mountain stage. He finished the race in 14th while his teammate Miguel Angel Lopez was fourth.
The Sicilian who suffered from a fever one day in San Luis, also reacted to the speculation regarding Adriano Malori’s crash. A few days ago, it was rumoured that an aneurysm caused the incident which Movistar have denied.
"You have to have respect for the families of those who are suffering. You can only listen to the official medical bulletins. Everything else is not right.”
