Marco Marcato was one of those riders fortunate enough to find a new team after Vacansoleil and Euskaltel-Euskadi have folded by the end of last season, and after having spent five consecutive years in the former, the Italian rider will sport the bright green Cannondale outfit in 2014.
Having three completed races under his belt this season, the former Paris-Tours champion has shown some glimpses of good disposition as he has finished GP Laigueglia inside the top ten. The 30-year old Italian admits he is pleased to have more opportunities to race on his home soil again.
"It's always a pleasure to come back to race in Italy - told us in an interview - This team is really good, this is a large group and we hope to continue like this."
Despite riding in the new outfit, Marcato’s objectives seem to be no different from those of past few seasons.
"I want to do well in the Classics, especially in the Ardennes. Then I'd like to ride well in a Grand Tour. Most likely I will ride the Tour the France.”
“In the nearest future I'll be at the GP Camaiore and Paris-Nice," Marcato confirmed
