To increase its chances in the fight for wild cards for the big races, the new Dutch Roompot team has joined the Movement for a Credible Cycling. The membership means that the Dutch team will have to follow stricter anti-doping rules than other teams.
The Roompot team has joined the Movement for a Credible Cycling MPCC. The new Dutch pro continental team is the 28th professional team to become member for the organization which has a stricter anti-doping policy than the UCI and WADA. The other major Dutch team, Team LottoNL-Jumbo, is also a member of the MPCC.
Michael Boogerd's, Erik Breukink's, Jean-Paul Van Poppel's and Michael van Zijlaard's new team will rely on wildcards to the biggest races in their debut season and hopes to ride the Tour de France which starts in the Netherlands. As race organizers give priority to members of the MPCC, Roompot have increased their chances by joining the movement.
