Nederlandse Loterij will replace Oranje Peloton as a co-sponsor of the Roompot team in 2017. The Dutch formation has announced the new name of the team in Utrecht.

Nederlandse Loterij is the name of the largest gaming company in the Netherlands and was created from the merger between the Dutch State Lottery and Lotto. The company prefers to promote the new name of the organization by taking over the position of Oranje Peloton.

What the name change means for the future of Orange Peloton is still unclear, but the adjustment will not automatically mean that there is an end for Oranje Peloton in the project

According to manager, Michael Zijlaard the name change represents a further step in the development of the team.

"That's a great partner and the Nederlandse Loterij name wanting to be directly connected with our team indicates that we are on the right track," Zijlaard said. "We thus maintain the purely Dutch character that we have and, of course, remains our orange colour. Personalizing the jersey with the name of the riders on the collar was also very well received at the show."

The pro continentale team as presented at the bike show Bike Motion where the new name and the new team bike was also revealed. Isaac recently extended the contract as bike supplier for two years. In addition, the new jersey for 2017 was presented.

"Through the combination of Lottery and Lotto is a powerful new gaming organization, arised dedicated to Dutch sport and to make sport accessible to a wider audience," Nederlandse Loterij director of corporate affairs Arjan van 't Veer said. "At present we are working on increasing the awareness of the Dutch Lottery, and the cooperation with the team is an excellent opportunity for us. The riders of Roompot - Nederlandse Loterij know, after all, how to race well in the spotlight. We know our players appreciate that."

Sports director Michel Cornelisse has extended his contract for two seasons.

"I feel good with my place in this team," Cornelisse said. "It may sound crazy, but I feel really privileged that I, together with Jean-Paul [van  Poppel] and Erik [Dekker], big names in the Dutch cycling history can play a role in this fantastic project."

Earlier in his career he worked for MTN-Qhuebka and Vacansoleil-DCM.
