CyclingWeekly has reported that Team Wiggins, who is riding a the Continental level, may soon receive significant financial support thanks to a big contract with Skoda UK.
Also according CyclingWeekly, Skoda is said to be in "advanced talks" with the British team and even if no agreement is apparently planned before Christmas, we already know the plan is an agreement for three years.
Team Wiggins had a loyal partner with Sky, but they have not renewed for 2017. Skoda's contribution would be welcome as a replacement.
Skoda is linked to cycling as partner of ASO for the Tour de France and Vuelta a Espana in particular. The Czech brand is also used by many teams.
Skoda was a partner and even co-sponsor of Team Roth - Skoda in 2015 and there were high hopes for the Swiss team in 2016 when it moved to the Professional Continental category. In somewhat unclear circumstances, the sponsorship stopped even before the start of the season. However, in the case of Team Wiggins, the relationship should be an initiative of Skoda UK.
