The Neri Sottoli riders were in a great form on the stage of today as they first had Andrea Fedi in a breakaway and later Matteo Rabottini in the final front group. But the team also had a rider, who abandoned the race. Giorgio Cecchinel wasn’t able to finish the stage.
The sixth stage saw the young Andre Fedi attack once again and after the stage he has a total of 435 km in the breakaways. Today he was in a breakaway with Marco Bandiera, Edoardo Zardini and Rodofo Torres. The breakaway was away from the peloton in 235 km.
10 km from the finish line a fall involved many riders happened, mainly due to the rain and the very wet roads. Consequently, in front a group of 9 riders remained with Matteo Rabottini. In the group was also Cadel Evans, the Italian champion Ivan Santaromita, and the pink jersey of Michael Matthews.
The rider, helped by DS Luca Scinto, rode perfectly with the other riders and finished 4th. Mauro Finetto finished 8th, so it was a good day for the Yellowfluo team.
"Today the guys rode perfectly. Andrea was once again ahead, he is young but he wants to grow, learn and to be protagonist. Rabottini, yesterday with the best riders, today rode in a perfect way, amazing. I'm proud of my boys. We keekp on this street", said Luca Scinto, at the finish line.
