After his win in La Polynormande and a top 20 in the Eneco Tour, Oliver Naesen (Topsport) again showed that it is just a matter of time before he will sign a contract with a bigger team when he finished third in the very hard GP Stad Zottegem.
"It was a good scenario for us today with Jelle [Wallays] in the group. We could both try. Unfortunately, I was up against two much faster riders," Oliver Naesen told Het Nieuwsblad. "I knew I could not go to the finish line with riders like Dehaes and Demoitié. Therefore, I tried several times to get away alone. On the ascent of the Grotenbergestraat I did not succeed. Also not on the Paddestraat cobbles. Then I knew that third place would be the best possible result."
