The Gent-Wevelgem will conclude the first week of Belgian cobbled classics tomorrow after riders take on the challenging 240km course. Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will take to the start with hopes of an improved performance after the early racing this week.
The route is slightly more forgiving than what riders have experienced already this week but there are still 9 Hellingens to contend with tomorrow. The Monteberg will be the final climb of the day but as it's situated 35km from the finish there is a good chance a general regrouping could take place as has been the case in previous years.
Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will have Edvald Boasson Hagen, Gerald Ciolek, Tyler Farrar, Theo Bos, Kristian Sbaragli, Reinardt Janse van Rensburg, Jay Thomson and Matt Brammeier all starting tomorrow.
“Tomorrow is going to be a really hard day with a forecast of wind and rain. For sure as a team we will fight for the best result possible and certainly we will ride for whoever is our strongest rider tomorrow if it comes down to a sprint finish,” Kristian Sbaragli said.
