In March Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung became the first ever African team to line up in a WorldTour race when it took part in Tirreno-Adriatico in Italy.
The event marked a successful debut for Africa's first Professional Continental team when Gerald Ciolek finished on the podium of stage 2.
Days after the event, the team started its second WorldTour race, Milan-San Remo. The Italian one day classic is the longest in world cycling and is one of five Monuments in cycling history. It was a dream campaign for the squad when Ciolek went on to win the prestigious event, after a day filled with rain and snow.
