No problem for Team Katusha leader Daniel Moreno in stage 3 of the Tour de San Luis. The stage from Concarán to Juana Koslay (176,3 km) ended with a predicted bunch sprint.
Just as in stage one Colombian rider Fernando Gaviria (Colombia) was stronger than Mark Cavendish (Etixx – Quick Step). Sacha Modolo (Lampre-Merida) was third. Katusha’s Russian rider Ilnur Zakarin finished 12th. Also Daniel Moreno finished in the main bunch.
Dani Moreno already looks forward to the stage of tomorrow, starting in Villa Dolores, close to Córdoba, where Moreno lives in winter.
"My wife Mariana is from that region and the people over there look already at me as a real Argentinean rider. I also like to train and race here. The level of the competition is getting better and better every year. For me it is also nice to train in real summer circumstances during the European winter. I look forward to tomorrow’s stage," said Dani Moreno, currently 6th in the general classification.
That stage will end with a 10,5 kilometer climb to the Alto El Amago. A stage for climbers!
