The 191km Trofeo Laigueglia was won by Davide Cimolai (Lampre).Third in 2012, Matteo Montaguti took fourth this time.
"It's a race that I like," he said. "I was Italian amateur champion on this circuit. The race is tough but often a small group decides the win. I was training in Gran Canaria and I arrived the day before Laigueglia. The first two hours were really tough and I expected that I would have a difficult day. With the feelings in the morning, I'm really happy with fourth place. By taking more risk in the sprint, third place was possible. But I did not want to try. Now I'm leaving for Gran Canaria. My next race will be the GP Lugano on March 1."
