Sacha Modolo continues to show his stabile form by finishing just outside the podium on today’s stage 4 in Tour de Pologne. It is the second 4th place in a row for the Italian sprinter as he also finished 4th on yesterday’s stage.
The sprint was won by Jonas Vangenechten of Lotto-Belisol ahead of Jacopo Guarnieri of Astana and Mezgec of Giant-Shimano.
"I was aware it would have been a very fast sprint and in fact it was at a very high speed,” Modolo said.
“Therefore it was very important to go into the sprint in a good position. I received a very helpful support by my team mates and I would like to point out Roberto Ferrari. Our team work was working perfectly,” Modolo continued.
I preferred to begin my sprint early because I predicted a lack of space in the very end. But unfortunately, I couldn’t finish my move in the final 20 m, just as yesterday. But, it is something I can improve having in mind that I was out for a month,” he finished.
There aren’t any changes in the GC as Petr Vakoc of Omega Pharma - Quickstep will wear the yellow jersey tomorrow as well. Manuele Mori is the best rider in the GC for Lampre, currently placed 9th 33 seconds behind.
