"When they told me that the finish was slightly uphill, I immediately thought it could be for me. So the team did a great job and Roberto Ferrari has confirmed that he is a truly exceptional lead-out man. We can do great things."

Sacha Modolo is hungry for victories so he ordered another success in the Tour of Hainan.

LAMPRE-MERIDA's sprinter won the 4th and longest stage of the Chinese race, obtaining another success after the one he had achieved in the 3rd stage. Modolo ruled the bunch sprint, exploiting the support that Roberto Ferrari had given him: he beat Jones, Giraud and Palini.

Thanks to the 5th seasonal victory, Modolo reached the first position of the overall classification and he's the leader of the points classification.

LAMPRE-MERIDA has obtained 28 victories in the season, one more in 2014.

Sports director Simone Pedrazzini commented on the performance of the team: "Cattaneo and Mario Costa led the chase of the bunch behind the breakaway when the attackers had a maximum advantage of 12'.  The breakaway was neutralized at 20 km to go, then it was Ferrari's turn to do his work as lead-out man for Modolo who completed the stage with the victory".

"The final straight was slightly uphill, the kind of arrival I like the most," Modolo explained. "It's easier to achieve the targets when you can rely on such an amazing team as LAMPRE-MERIDA: I'm really happy I could give a victory to my team mates."

"When they told me that the finish was slightly uphill, I immediately thought it could be for me," he told Tuttobiciweb. "So the team did a great job and Roberto Ferrari has confirmed that he is a truly exceptional lead-out man. We can do great things.

"Now I am the leader and it will be a bit more difficult for the team because we will be the ones to control the race. But it's time to start thinking about even the most difficult stage and we have Valerio Conti who who is good and can do well."
