Androni-Venezuela has terminated contract with Mattia Gavazzi, per the rider's request, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. The Italian rider cites "personal and technical reasons" in his reason to ask the team to terminate his contract.
Mattia Gavazzi is a sprinter that had good results in 2013, winning a Tour de San Luis stage outsprinting Peter Sagan, and then won the Giro di Toscana ahead of Taylor Phinney in a sprint. His result was even more impressive considering the Italian had just served a doping suspension for nearly 3 years.
