Lluis Mas (Caja Rural) defended the sprints jersey in the Tour of Turkey and now only needs to control Federico Zurlo in the final stage to take the win.
"Today, for the White Jersey, I only had to keep and eye on Federico Zurlo. He didn't attack, so I stayed int he peloton to work for Carlos Barbero in the sprint. We thought he could be a contender today, but he didn't get over the hill as well as he did at Pamukkale two days ago, and he didn't have the power to play his cards int he sprint. We won a fantastic stage yesterday, but you don't end every day with a smile on your face," he said.
