Daniel Martin did another great performance in today's stage of the Vuelta a Espana to defend his seixth place in the overall standings. However, the Irishman is getting tired and admits that he prefers one-day racing.
Yesterday Dan Martin almost lost it all when he crasked in the Vuelta a Espana but he managed to save the day and even move up in the overall standings. Today he again rode strongly in the queen stage where he finished seventh to defend his sixth place on GC.
"Everyone is so tired," he told CyclismActu. "I do not like stage races, I prefer one-day races because you do not have to work as hard when you are too tired. This is just horrible but we did what we could at the end.
"Since I suffered a crash yesterday, I did not feel good. They gave me six stitches in my leg. But I'm happy with my day. I am now sixth overall, it's fantastic. The team has done such a great job to bring me so far, it was a really good day."
