Marco Marcato denies that he has had any relationship with doctor Michele Ferrari and rejects the information published today in the Gazzetta dello Sport about the list of riders who worked with the Italian physician who is banned for life.
Marco Marcato who rode for Cannondale this year, will join Wanty-Groupe Gobert for the next two seasons. "I never had any sort of connection with Dr. Ferrari. I never knew this man, I have never met him and I have never talked with him," said the Italian rider.
"I want to defend my image which is strongly affected by this article. I am available to the authorities to answer all the questions and to prove my innocence in this matter."
"I'm sorry for everything, and if necessary, I will seek compensation for the considerable damage" concludes Marcato.
Marcato has been riding for the following teams: Androni Giocattoli (2005), Teaem 3C (2006), LPR (2007), Collstrop (2008), Vacansoleil (2009-2013) and Cannondale (2014).
