Marco Marcato sprinted to a second place today in GP Industria & Commercia di Prato, the last of the four Italian autumn classics Team Wanty-Groupe Gobert rode this week.

“Rebellin and I attacked at 60 kilometres from the line to anticipate the Italian national team. That was a good decision. We got company from Nibali, Wackermann and Bennati. We rode well together and I finished second in the end. Bennati just was faster."

Earlier this week there were also good results despite the fact that Marco Minnaard was unable to start because of a foot injury and Mirko Selvaggi didn't take the start in the last two races due to sickness. It were mainly Enrico Gasparotto, Francis De Greef and Marco Marcato who were racing aggressively in the Coppa Agostoni, Coppa Bernocchi, the Memorial Pantani and the GP Prato resulting in two top ten places: 9th in Coppa Bernocchi for Gasparotto and a second place for Marcato in Prato.

“I was part of the action all week and rode alongside the best riders. I only missed something every day. Today I was in the right group and finish second. Of course this is not first place but I can't say I am unhappy with this result," Marcato concludes.

Roy Jans took his 24th and 25th top ten place of the season. In the Primus Classic Impanis-Van Petegem on Saturday he came in sixth. In Sunday's GP Isbergues Jans took a fifth place in the sprint.

"I feel really good at the moment. On Saturday I got over the hills easily and always kept myself to the front. Bjorn Leukemans was very important that day because he kept me at the front and out of the wind all day. On Sunday it was a superfast race in Isbergues. Wanty-Groupe Gobert rode a strong race, like a real team. In the last kilometres there were lots of turns and narrow roads which made it hard to move up a few places. I also lost Robin (Stenuit) in the last three kilometers which was a pity," Jans looks back on his race weekend.
