Neo-pro Lorrenzo Manzin (FDJ) again proved that he is ready to fill the gap left by Nacer Bouhanni in the FDJ team when he finished second in the final stage of the Route du Sud.
"Bryan Coquard was a step above the rest," he told Directvelo. "I can not regret to have finished seconnd behind him. I definitely lost my sprint with 300 meters to go when there was a split in the bunch. But you had to be in the lead in this highly technical finale. We haced a lot of traffic islands, passing over a bridge with 600m to go and going through a left-hand turn with 200 meters to go The team was a great help.
"I realize that I have recovered from yesterday's mountain stage. Last Thursday, I was not able to contest the sprint because of cramps. My next races will be Halle-Ingooigem on Wednesday and the Championships in Chantonnay where I willl put myself at the service of the team."
