Friday saw yet more dramatic action at the Giro d’Italia as the stage ended with a descent on a slippery and treacherous road. Team Saxo-Tinkoff’s Polish GC hope, Rafal Majka, is the new leader of the best young rider competition.
“Today was truly a difficult stage; the rain only added to the difficulty of the parcours,” Majka told Tuttobiciweb.it after Friday’s stage that ended with a very slippery and tricky descent. “I tried to give my best out there today, and here I am with the white jersey on my shoulders. Wearing it was my objective going into this Giro, now I will try to keep it all the way to Brescia. Tomorrow’s stage will be no less difficult than today because the individual time trial is not my speciality, but I will try to lose as little time as possible.”
