Angel Madrazo (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) finished 3rd and Eduard Prades 5th in the Giro dell'Emilia.
Madrazo got the result after attacking with Andrea Fedi (Southeast). In the last kilometers Jan Bakelants (Ag2R-La Mondiale) caught them and finally came out on top. Madrazo had to settle for third after last year's second place.
"The feeling was good all day. I wanted to gamble from afar because of the difficulty of the circuit which is very hard, and it was slightly better to be in front front," he said. "I missed a bit, last year I was 2nd and 3rd this year. Bakelants came from behind and dropped both of us. We had been in front for a long time and felt it in the legs. It's a shame, but I am happy, it's been a great year. Despite a bad start, we have been constantly at work and have always competed as a team and have achieved results. Furthermore, I have renewed for another year which makes me very happy, and I hope to take the opportunity next year and win this race like I did in Ordizia this year. "
