After a solid 2014 season with NetApp-Endura, Tiago Machado will return to the WorldTour with the Katusha team. The Portuguese is expected to ride the Tour de France in support of Joaquim Rodriguez.

In 2015, Tiago Machado will return to the big races even though he had a good calendar with NetApp-Endura. The Portuguese has announced his schedule for 2015 and will get the chance to return to the Tour de France and ride several one-week stage races that suits his characteristics.

Machado will start his season in the Tour Down Under and make his European debut at the Vuelta Murcia. Thn he will ride the Clasica de Almeria and his home race Volta ao Algarve before he heads to France for Paris-Nice. The GP Miguel Indurain, Vuelta al Pais Vasco and the Tour de Romandie will end his spring season before he will use the Tour des Fjords, GP Aargau and the Tour de Suisse to prepare for the Tour de France.

Machado is one of 14 riders that are on the long list for the Tour where the team is expected to be led by Joaquim Rodriguez and Alexander Kristoff.

In 2014, Machado broke a long victory drought when he won the Tour de Slovenie overall. He was second in the Vuelta a Murcia, fourth in the Tour of California, sixth in the Giro del Trentino, 17th in Liege-Bastogne-Liege and 18th in Il Lombardia. In the Tour, he was in a great position before a crash in the stage to La Planche des Belles Filles set him back. Between 2010 and 2013, he rode for Radioshack and has finished on the podium in races like the Tour Down Under, Trentino,Criterium International and Circuit Cycliste Sarthe.
