After a great season, Julien Loubet (Marseille) has signed a contract with Bretagne for 2016. Two days ago he proved that he is ready for the next step by finishing second in the Tour du Doubs.
"There were strong riders in the break," h told Directvelo. "I did not really understand what happened and why Alexandre Geniez and Jean-Christophe Péraud sacrificed themselves. But that was good for us. That made it two big opponents less.
"I come out of a period of doubts. I had asthma, but fortunately today it went much better. But suddenly I lacked confidence in the final. I did not believe in myself. I thought it would be great just to finish in the top 10. Sadly, we know that cycling is a lot about trust. But I cannot be disappointed to finish second. I would have signed for this result this morning.
"I am also happy that Eduardo [Sepulveda] wins this race, he will be my teammate next year. I am happy to get a result when I already have a contract for 2016. This is proof that I am still very motivated to finish the season with Team KTM-13 Marseille well."
