Stage 20 in the Giro is a 199K long mountain stage with the legendary Colle delle Finestre (18,5k/9,2% with the last 7,8k sterrato) and the final climb to Sestrière (9,2k/5,4%). It's also the last chance for GC contenders to improve their ranking.
Lotto Soudal sports director Bart Leysen thinks a good climber can win.
"Probably someone of the early break has a chance to win if the break can take a lot of time and if they climb good enough. I think riders between place 10 and 20 will try to take their chance; probably Uran is a good example," he said. "Tinkoff-Saxo will control for the GC but won't mind about riders further away in the GC. Maybe it's also a chance for Jurgen [Van den Broeck] or Maxime [Monfort], but Jurgen has suffered from intestinal problems and nevertheless he's still in place 12."
