To meet the demands of riders, the organizers of the Grand Prix La Marseillaise Opening have decided to slightly lengthen the course.
Alain Bernardi, director of the event, has told DirectVélo that a loop of a dozen kilometers will extend the course and make the finale a bit harder as it will include the 3km climb of Pas de Bellefille, located near Cassis.
"This amendment will perhaps make the riders more tired but it's not a big change like last year when we added Route des Cretes,” said Bernardi.
The race will have a length of 144.6 kilometers race for the 38th edition which will take place on January 29. 18 teams are expected to start, half of which are French.
