As it was recently reported, the Caja Rural-RGA rider Francesco Lasca is recovering without any problems following his hip surgery and the initial date of his return to competition has been set after he was visited by members of his team.
The Italian sprinter, who competed last time at the Vuelta a Espana last season, is expected to return to racing at the Grand Prix Indurain held on April 5th and continue with the Vuelta a la Rioja where he will try to defend his title as he has won this event last season.
Even though it will be extremely difficult to be competitive after seven months spent out of racing, Lasca hopes that it would be an important test of his condition as the route suits him perfectly well.
“The course suits my characteristics, although it won’t be easy to be in a good shape right after return. It still will be a good test to verify the physical condition,” Caja Rural rider admitted.
