Davide Cimolai will be back to racing after his victory in Trofeo Laigueglia. The Italian rider will be at the start of Gp Lugano (Sunday, March 1) and he won’t be the only top rider on the Lampre-Merida roster. Sport director Simone Pedrazzini will direct Niccolò Bonifazio, Mattia Cattaneo, Valerio Conti, Ilia Koshevoy, Przemyslaw Niemiec, Luka Pibernik and Josè Serpa.
Pedrazzini confirmed the roles and the targets: “If the race will end with a sprint, Bonifazio will be our captain, but we are aware too that Davide Cimolai will be a strong different option. Niemiec will be one of the favourite if the race will be selective.
"I think the roles of Conti, Koshevoy and Pibernik, who are young and full of energies, will be important, since they can join the breakaway.
GP Lugano will be the debut in Europe for Serpa, who recently obtained the 5th place in the Colombian championship."
