Alexis Vuillermoz took a deserved victory in the Grand Prix de Plumelec where he managed to anticipate the sprint that was won by Simon (Cofidis). Matthieu Ladagnous took fifth place for FDJ. At the finish, Marc Madiot was very pleased with his riders.
"We had a good race," he said. "I am very pleased with the return of our two injured riders, Pierre-Henri Lecuisinier and Johan Le Bon. In the end, there were 35-40 riders and we had seven there. Only Jérémy Roy who had escaped earlier, was a little behind. They were physically well and did not wait. When the first break of 5 riders was caught, Anthony Geslin and Pierre-Henri were in a group of eleven riders. Then Laurent Pichon joined them. Later Jérémy Roy attacked with Voeckler. The latter was caught 15 kilometers from the finish and Anthony Geslin again tried his luck with Sepulveda (Bretagne). Finally, it was decided on the last bump. Lada did well. He is a safe bet."
Madiot had had a look at his three former world champions Le Bon, Lecuisinier and Olivier Le Gac and he is optimistic.
"The three kids will be fine next week in Boucles de la Mayenne. They're fine and they are hungry."
