Michal Kwiatkowski denies that he is angry at Etixx-QuickStep manager Patrick Lefevere because of a disagreement over whether the Pole should ride for GC in stage race. "This situation did not occur,” the new Sky rider tells Wieler Revue.
During the second rest day of the Tour de France, Patrick Lefevere told Sporza that he had tried to convince Michal Kwiatkowski that it would be a bad idea to aim at general classifications. The Pole was "pretty upset" and he claimed that it was "one of the reasons" why he left Etixx-QuickStep.
However, the new Team Sky rider denies that it was the reason for his departure from the Belgians.
"Patrick Lefevere never asked me whether I wanted to ride for GC or not,” Kwiatkowski tells Wieler Revue at the training camp in Mallorca. "Or whether I was angry."
The former world champion does not understand how this issue has come out.
“I do not know where this comes from, maybe it was Patrick's idea. You see it more often from people in such a position who have to search for the media all have time. I don’t have time for that. This whole situation has never occurred. "
