If Sven Nys wins the Koppenbergcross for the 10th time in two weeks, he will feel it in his legs. "We are looking for steeper sections," the organizers of the second round of the Bpost Bank Trofee promise.
The Koppenberg is Sven Nys's place. The Belgian champion has already won the cross on and around the infamous climb nine times.
"This year we change the route slightly," the organizers have announced. "We will find our steeper sections on our climb so that the course remains an infernal calf crusher in dry weather. Perhaps the riders will even have to dismount.
"The course designers follow the weather conditions closely. In case of very wet weather, the steepest sections will be removed because it would be too much."
